聽葉丙成教授演講的心得

It’s not always easy to know what we want to do in the future, especially when we’re still learning about ourselves. Many young people often ask, “What should I do with my life?” or “How can I find something meaningful?” A recent speech I listened to helped me think more clearly about these questions and gave me useful advice about how to find my path.

One important idea from the speech was that finding our “calling” takes time. It doesn’t happen all at once. We need to learn more about the world around us and also understand ourselves. The speaker shared a simple method: “Know the world, know yourself, and then connect the two.” This made me realize that trying different things is okay. It’s part of discovering what we enjoy and what we’re good at.

The speaker also talked about the importance of being curious and continuing to learn. In the future, many jobs might be done by machines or AI, so we must be ready to grow and adapt.  Learning doesn’t end after school—we need to keep learning throughout our lives. This helped me understand that getting good grades is not enough. We should also build real skills that can help us in everyday life.

The speech reminded me that failure is normal. We don’t have to be afraid of making mistakes. Each failure helps us grow and learn. The speaker also said soft skills—like teamwork, communication, and staying calm—are just important as knowledge. After listening to the speech, I feel more optimistic about the future. Even though I don’t have everything figured out, I know it’s fine to take one step at a time. By staying open and trying new things, I believe I’ll eventually find the path that’s right for me.
